For twenty years, the Sacconi Quartet have been captivating audiences with their unanimous and compelling ensemble, consistently communicating with a fresh and imaginative approach. Formed in 2001, the four founder members continue to demonstrate a shared passion for string quartet repertoire, infectiously reaching out to audiences with their energy and enthusiasm.
Hanna is a former member of the prestigious Jette Parker Young Artists programme at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and has performed solo roles at international opera houses including La Scala in Milan, Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, Teatro Real of Madrid and Seattle Opera. Hanna and Emma's world-première recording Sera d'inverno: Songs by Ildebrando Pizzetti for Resonus Classics has been praised by Gramophone for its 'considerable intensity' and was Editor's Choice in the June 2018 issue of the leading Australian magazine Limelight.
Emma and Julian have given keyboard duet recitals at many prestigious UK venues including the Royal Opera House, St John’s Smith Square and St George’s Bristol. International engagements have included the Mozart Society of America in Boston. They have also performed on original instruments for the Finchcocks Charity, at Hatchlands Park and the Russell Collection. Their latest release is Tournament for Twenty Fingers featuring piano duets by 20th-century British composers for BIS Records. They have previously recorded Mozart’s complete sonatas for keyboard duet on two discs for Resonus Classics, and Weber's complete keyboard duets on Deux-Elles, all on period instruments.
Evva and Emma have performed together for international festivals in Salzburg, Naples and Koscierzyna, and at many UK venues such as St George’s, Bristol and Fairfield Halls. Their discography includes world-première recordings by Krzysztof Meyer, Algernon Ashton and Stephen Dodgson. Published by Toccata Classics, their performances have been critically acclaimed in magazines such as The Strad, International Record Review, German Fonoforum and American Fanfare – where the Meyer album was selected as one of the five best CDs of 2009.
In addition to festival appearances, Emma has recorded Stephen Dodgson's two piano quintets with the Tippett Quartet for Toccata Classics. Their performances have been praised as 'a model of chamber ensemble playing' by Musical Opinion, and the disc was named a Musicweb International Recording Of The Year 2017.
